Really Remote

I spent the last two days driving to and from Bonita, AZ as well as giving a workshop to librarians in the surrounding libraries (Bonita PL, Safford, Pima). The workshop was sponsored by the State Library (AZ) and my home library who gave me the time. And time it took, to get there, that is. But it was well worth the drive. Not only was the location gorgeous the people were especially friendly and nice.

This particular workshop is lots of fun. (Did I say fun?). Anyway, the workshop enables librarians to develop strategies for increasing usage of electronic databases. When they finish the workshop will be able to talk about the databases to students, parents, teachers (minus the library jargon), plan for staff training, and promotion to the public. We brainstorm lots of ideas and they take with them what will work in their libraries, their communities. I have had several libraries send me their pr material and we review it during the workshop. Here's a link to the presentation page and pictures of Bonita, AZ. So, when we say remote access--this is really remote access.
