The AZ Republic: A moving target

The chase is on (again). We've been made aware that the only newspaper we purchase from Newsbank (the only vendor that provides archives of the Arizona Republic) is unavailable while Gannett is undergoing data converson. So the fee-based archives run back to 1999. Currently, and for the last several weeks, we have had access only to the most recent couple of months(which is what is available on their public Web site). Gannett is making no promise of a completion date although an estimate completion time has been mentioned. Gale Group, just last year, was the only vendor to offer the product then Newsbank got the exclusive. Of course, everyone loses, especially the customers. Stay tuned...
